I am currently a dual student at SUNY Oneonta and the Fashion Institute of Technology. At SUNY Oneonta I am earning my bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising and have a minor in Communication Studies. This degree has given me skills in fashion forecasting, textiles, promotion, advertising, fashion journalism, and knowledge of computer software. In Communications I have learned how to work with others and the constructs of all aspects of communication.
In 2024, I completed the Disney College Program from January until August. During this program, I worked in merchandise at four different locations in Epcot, primarily Creations Shop. During my program I learned team building and communication skills. I was tasked with working in a fast-paced environment and discovering how to overcome difficult tasks within a short period of time.
During my current senior year of college, I am completing a visiting program with the Fashion Institute of Technology where I am earning an associate’s degree in Textile Development and Marketing. This degree has given me experience working with textiles and understanding the duality of different fibers. After I gain insight and experience from my program, I wish to get a job in retail or journalism in New York City. I plan to work my first job for a couple of years and adapt to the business.
A further career goal of mine is working with sustainable textiles and helping to create and expand the sustainable fashion industry. I am very passionate about sustainability, and I want to be a part of a team that is dedicated to developing more economically friendly textiles.
